María Jesús Hernández’s specialist areas are economic criminal law and corporate compliance programmes.
Born in 1970, she studied Law at Madrid’s Complutense University, holding a Triple Master’s Degree in Public International Law and a Master’s Degree in Procedural Law. She took public legal exams and until 2013 sat as a Judge in the Canary Islands, presiding over more than 5,000 cases. From 2013 to 2015 she worked for a number of leading Spanish law firms, such as Ontier España (Ramón Hermosilla & Gutiérrez de la Roza) and Rousaud Costas Duran (RCD) as Head of the Criminal Law and Corporate Compliance Department, until starting up CHR Legal along with José María Cusí and Juan Roda, as Managing Partner of the Criminal Law and Corporate Compliance Department.

She is the author of a number of articles for specialist publications and taught Civil Law II at the Lanzarote School of Juridical Practice and at ICADE, as well as being a regular speaker for the Catalonia Association of Economists. She has also worked on the publication “Memento Concursal Francis Lefebvre 2015”.
